February Networking Social
BOUT ART AGGREGATE
Art Aggregate is a co-working facility catering to artists, makers, and other cultural innovators. Through the provision of space, tools, knowledge, and cross-disciplinary interaction we aim to bring creative businesses together in a way that promotes collaboration. Factors that contribute to many makers avoiding running an independent studio include commercial leasing, cost prohibitive equipment, and a professional-like setting. At Art Aggregate we manage the acquisition and maintenance of the equipment, stocking and cleaning of the space, and the everyday annoyances of everything from utilities to Wi-Fi to making sure there is enough soap and paper towel so that you can focus on what you need to: your business.
The collection of artists already working out of Art Aggregate helps to create the perfect venue for creating unusual projects. Art Aggregate is also very approachable to new or aspiring artists who have yet to take their first steps. Tasks such as using power tools or sanding down wood, while intimidating, are *learnable* through the introductory classes/workshops that we offer. Art Aggregate regularly hosts consulting days to troubleshoot or discuss starting steps for frustrated makers. This has led a number of creators/creative businesses to come to Art Aggregate as a fabricator or for guidance on upcoming projects. Art Aggregate facilitates CREATING the projects and connecting potential clients with the appropriate creator. We pride ourselves on keeping work local, if not in-house.
Our space can also be used to host your own classes/seminars/events, exhibit completed work, set up a photo/video shoot, conduct client meetings/pitches, or simply meet a friend for coffee. We have the necessary tools to accomplish everything from prototyping scale models to building a tradeshow booth, from molding and casting custom toys to learning how to knit to improving the quality of your product photography.
Art Aggregate is located in the East end of Hamilton, conveniently positioned near the QEW, Red Hill Valley Parkway, and the soon to be constructed Confederation GO Train Station. We are near a Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart Smart Centre, Eastgate Square mall, a GO bus stop, and Hamilton Public Transit. Parking at Art Aggregate is free and we also have a level surface bay door for receiving material and loading completed projects.
We are currently looking to fill an available studio space (all of our studios are approx... 120 sq/ft) Studio members receive:
